anne, are you a mechanic or asking for hubbY
are you hands on person, willing to learn?
i be not. so why ask at all.?
why not do what 99% do , get it serviced.
you think blind guessing fixes cars?
well you tell is then, its 1 in 100 shot.
how told you that a real ASE mech,
no ,he'd have corrected it now. and you'd not be here. right.
so its RUMOR< Mr/ RUMOR told me belt is ok
i say 50% bunk.,that.
belts in fact get hard with age and make noise.
for sure cold , its harder.
this is not a guess. its a list of common failures.
1; bad belt, gee its cheap fix if i guess right.
2: not tensioned correctly or the tension or is bad.
3: the pump/alt ,p/s, or a/c compr. bearing are bad.
4: bent accessory brakes, or broke causing belt disaligment and squeeels.
5: wrong belt. (too long as many stores sell)
6: a belt from fleabay china for $3, a POS.
7: defective pulleys. bent or cracked (any )idlers.
guess what, we cant just guess , takes looking
and finding and testing....
and am not doing 101 on that.
