I put a 99 Chrysler concord 3.2 engine in a 2001 dodge Intrepid that had a 2.7 in it. I changed the wiring harness and the computer. It started and run then died three times before the security system shut it down. How do I reset the system, code etc. Thanks....

I think the problem is on the harness connector going into the computer. I am having the same problem myself. I have replaced 3 computers and now it is doing it again. Dodge dealer just wants to continue replacing computers. I am going to a salvage yard to find a 99 durango and cutting out the wiring harnesses 12" from computer and splicing all the wires together on mine. It is about 75 wires, so this will take some time. Once completed I will wrap all harnesses with aluminum wire wrap to deflect heat off harness connections going into computer. This is part of the cause for the failure along with poor connecting design by Chrysler.
these intrepids are dodges biggest mistake ever, the chances of you finding a good used motor to put in one are very slim to none, especially at a reasonable price, because unless you find an intrepid that was smashed up, just about everyone in the bone yard has a bad motor...a little secret that i just myself learned about a month ago when dealing with another shop, you can take a motor from a concord and with a few modifications get it into that intrepid the mods dont cost anyhing as long as you have the intrpid motor to pull parts from, its little things that dont line up like the heater hoses, just pull them off the intripid motor and put them on the concords, all the mount and other important areas line right up. It would be a learning experience but those concord motors are far more reliable than the intreid ones.
I could very well be the TPS throttle position sensor acting up. I had a very similar situation on a 99 Concorde with the same engine in it in my shop today. Go to a shop that is able to do a data stream on the engine. What it is, is they hook up a scanner and have the ability to watch all the sensors as the car starts/runs.
