I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota 4X4. The air conditioner makes noise so I wanted to replace the serpentine belt to bypass the air conditioner. When I tried to put the new belt on, it was too short. It was the correct part number, and all the places I went to find another were the same length (88.5 inches). The belt needs to be at least 90 inches (maybe more) to go around the pulleys. Is there an alternative replacement belt for this situation?
The parts store can give you a bigger belt just give them the part# of the belt thats to small which they have a book with the measurements of the belts, tell them you need a belt the same design but 3 inches bigger, its simple, they look in the book and get the belt i do that often at napa auto parts, some part stores have lazy workers, they dont take time to help people, try that, good luck.

I have this same problem. Just wondering what size belt you ended up using?
