No such code on that car, auto zone uses global testing which pulls universal codes, so that code means someting different for the suzuki, need to have it checked by the dealer or a shop that has import software, or post the code # and i can translate it into import code, good luck.

I had this problem and got p700 and p705 codes. Also the car when put in reverse would jerk and gear display on dash would be flashing and even when put in drive, wont recognize it and keep driving in 1st gear it seemed. took it to dealer as no one else knew what the problem was. It was the transmission range sensor switch. costed about 120 to replace and problem solved.

Just replace the neutral safety switch this just happened to me. It is easy to replace it is on the top of transmission it is held on by two bolts. Part # is 3772086z01 google this part number and you will get schematic and where to get it only cost me about 37.00 dollars

I am pretty sure the codes that were given by Autozone were PO700 and PO705. Wife has an '07 Forenza with same issues.

Was your issue the range selector switch (a.k.a. range sensor, prindle switch, park/neutral safety switch). Part # 37720-86z01?

It is located on the outside of the transmission on the front side (not between the transmission and the firewall). You can open the hood and put an eye on it.

Be VERY sure to alignment it properly AND to clear the code.

If this helps, please say so!

I have an '07 suzuki forenza has 30,000 miles on it the check engine light came on and hasnt came off since car jerks when put on drive can anyone help

Take the car in somewhere and see what thew check light code is. If the trans jerks when put in gear, it might be the transmission range switch ( neutral safety switch) See what the code is first and go from there. Any questions after the code reply back to me, Don Suzuki tech

Transmission sensor problem

there is a transmission sensor on the transmission block, you can see it under the hood on the drivers side right under the waterhose and its called neutral safety switch.when the sensor fails the engene light comes on and the D on the transmission slips. if you want to fix it yourself is very easy if you have some mechanic skills. first disconect the waterhose if you donot want to have any problems later, there are two screws holding the sensor and one nut in the middle, unplug the harness, remove the sensor, get the sensor at the dealership ,plug in the new sensor to the harness and set it to neutral by watching the car gears on dash, set the trany pin to neutral, the teeth on the sensor will find the way in easely by doing this, reconect everything, reset the car computer by disconecting the battery ground cable and stepping on the break pedal a few times for at least one minute, reconect the battery cable and you are done! iam not a mechanic,i just have some mechanic skills and thats how i fixed my suzuki forenza 2007 myself.
