I have a 2001 v6 Jeep Grand cherokee and the radiator fan does not come on. I have read that it may be the relay. If this a job I can do or should I take it to a garage? How much should I pay to get this...

the relays and fuses are located under the hood on your vehicle, there is 2 boxs, and they both have covers, snap the covers off, and you will be able to see fuses and relays, inside of the covers shows a diagram of what they are and where they are located, and yes , if it is the fan relay, you can replace it yourself, just pull the relay out and put the new one in.

Radiator fan not working replaced relay, temp switch and fuse fan works if hot wired it's on a 2001 jeep grand cherokee

Check the wiring from the relay to the fan motor, and check the wiring from the fuse block. Basically check all wires that supply power to the fan motor, use a volt meter. Fan Relay (behind headlight, under battery) on the 2001 GC 4.0L are a piece of ****, I change mine almost yearly. The problem is their location, a high heat area prone to the elements. I understand that 2002 and newer, the location was changed and the problem solved. Relay might close the circuit when cold or at reasonable temps, but might open a circuit when it heats up, causing the problem.

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee- fan that sits closest to radiator

Have you tested the fan sending unit on the engine? disconnect that and if the fan runs (Key on) that is most likely the problem.
