Is there spark , fuel ? Fuel pressure test , test electrical circuit ! Go on youtube an check out some videos on trouble shooting Cranks - no start videos ! How to test fuel pump electrical circuit , COP- coil on plug ignition system testing !
the transfer pump is in the right tank, you can get access to the tank sender/pump units from under the rear seat, i'd suggest checking power to the trans pump and go from there
Its not the plugs. And probably not a sensor. It could be the fuel pump relay or the pump in the tank. A sensor going bad would make the check engine light come on with a trouble code. A faulty pump relay or pump would make it take longer to get the fuel pressure up to normal. You could probably make it start by just cranking it longer too. I would check to see if the pump comes on when it fails to crank.
My 2007 Dodge SRT8 charger stalled possible problems?
I was reversing out of the driveway and when i put it in drive it stalled out. Its chugged before, just once, and recently just bought the car Im thinking fuel filter or spark plugs...any suggestions?
Sometime new isnt all that is new but lets say its good. Okay how the fuel filter probable good. so let move on can you put some fuel in the throttle body and give it a start and does it start up longer than stall. If it does you may have the fuel problem still. Now remember there is a linear idle air control motor key on step on the gas pedal does it react. yes okay next step turn key on does the fuel pump operate momentarily crank it it should operate for 2 seconds if it doesnt then you will need to reapir the crank sensor before you do that the ASD relay should energize it that doesnt youll need to find the short. but for now check for spark if no spark correct the crank sensor
Try putting a little gas in the top of the carb. Then try to start, if it starts then it's a fuel problem, clogged filter, lines, carb or fuel pump. If it doen't start with the gas then check for spark, disconnect a spark plug wire put on a spare spark plug, ground plug threads to motor and have someone turn over motor. You should see a spark between plug and electrode. Also you could check compression of engine, rings could be siezed and no compression will mean no start. If low or no compression, pour wd-40 or other lubricant into spark plug holes and let sit for a couple of days. Hopefully that would unsieze rings.
In my experience with the 2.7L engine, the spark plugs are located on the top of the engine below the individual ignition coils. The coils are placed between the intake manifold and the valve covers, 3 per side. The coils are held in with "torx" screws. Simply remove the screws, and disconnect the connectors to remove the coils. The spark plugs will be underneath. Be sure to properly gap the spark plugs for maximum life and emissions compliance. Also, an improperly gapped plug can shorten the life of the coil packs.
Hope this helps!
