If the car is dead cold, they should NOT come on. Could be a temp sensor telling the computer that the car is HOT. Any "check engine lights" on? I believe there are 2 sensors on your car.

2000 Pontiac Montana van, when I turn the key to the on position, all I get is a service engine soon light, nothing else happens. When I turn the key off, there is a hissing sound and all my gauge needles...

Do you have headlights or other signs that your battery is in good condition other than the radio? Ever hear the hissing before when you shut off the car? Like an interior fan in the a/c? Possibly corroded battery connections or a bad ground in the starting system.

My fan comes on soon as you turn the Kee on before starting the car

Do you leave your A/C button "on" when turning off car? On most cars, the cooling fans come on automatically (regardless of engine temp.) when the a/c system is on (a/c switch and fan speed), with key on. Other possibility is your coolant temp. sensor is defective, but your temp. gauge would show inaccurate readings.

98 Pontiac Grand Prix load front end roaring?

Defective fan clutch, if it has one. With a cold engine only, try spinning the fan blade by hand. If it does not turn freely, the fan clutch is defective. Warning: When the engine is hot, the fan can turn on by itself with the car not running and keys are NOT in the ignition.

Hi, my radiator fan comes on as soon as i start the car. Alos when i switch on the airconditioner the fan stops working..theres 2 fans actually and only one works.. dont know what might be the problem

one fan is for a/c and the other is for the rad.the a/c fan will come on if the a/c is turned on or if the heater mode is on defrost.this is normal operation.turn a/c off and change mode to anything but defrost.now no fans should be on.
