Is there any problems with swaping out the radio for an after market radio

ALL THAT ANs NEVER SCANNED THE PCM ONCE.
TO SEE RADIO COMMUNICATION ERRORS ON THE NETWORK
yes this radio and all sub units run off the CAN_BUS network.
OR THE SAME ACT SHOWS RADIO, LICENSE CODE LOST.
MODERN CARS NOW EVEN PULLING THE MAIN 12V CAR BATTERY THE RADIO GOES DEAD. (OFFLINE) THE DAY1 NEW ARE THE GLOVE BOX IS OPENED
AND A TAG IS THERE, SAYS DO NOT LOSE THIS LICENSE. CODE
PUT IT IN A SAFE PLACE IT STATES.
THIS ANSWER IF FOR FACTORY oem CAR AND RADIOS.
or ask VOLVO for help, why skip that?

the service manual shows where are fuses reside
some cars have 3 fuse boxes
engine bay
cab
and trunk, <<< some cars with rear amps have fuse here too.
read the service manual and the matching radio page schematics.

limited info generic answer improper install -accidentally disconnecting --- breaking and moving wires under dash can cause your problem except the miss unless tapped wiring with your ignition system

Radio's don't affect the security. But if installing another factory radio, it has to be programmed to your car. After market radios don't. If using an after market one, you will loose some chimes, like door,key,lights, ect...

I had that problem dealer wanted $98.00 to unlock it I bought a after market radio off of Ebay for $30.00 put it in and now I don't have to be paying a dealer ant thing with the after market radios you don't get the lock on it .

Use your old sensor.

It most likely is a radio problem. I would try swaping radio. Ebay or junkyard would be a good place to start.

I believe you have another problem, because the radio will keep the calibration of the radio as long as it stays in your van. it will only lock if radio is swaped with another pontiac radio. to unlock it you will need a GM tech II to recalibrate the unit.

check your fuses for your interior light.You might have blown that fuse installing the after market radio.
