2003 GMC SONOMA ZR2 IS STUCK IN FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. IT HAS 90000 MILES ON IT. FUSES ARE GOOD.I LIVE IN DENVER, I LEFT IT IN 4X4 OVERNIGHT, COULD IT FREEZE UP? THE 4X4 LIGHT IS ON, BUT WILL NOT SWITCH BACK TO 4X2.
Is it a three button or four button the tccm on the right hand kick pannel has a connector issue that it either burns a pin or corrodes and xauses the tccm to fail or the connector to not make contact my 01 had the same problem only after replacing the tcase motor and module did I think to check the connector and thr fat red positive wire was fried I replaced the pin with one that fit and not it works again
That is most likely the front differential actuator ...let me know how that works out please

Hi Neal, nothing against you at all, because you did not know the entire story. When GMC built the truck they routed the wiring harness under the hood too close to the exhaust, shorting out the wires to the 4x4 computer module behind the right passenger plastic kick panel. We had to fix the wires ,then replace the module.
Total bill was $744.00 at the GMC Dealer. Thank you.
