2003 GMC SONOMA IS STUCK IN FOUR WHELL DRIVE

2003 GMC SONOMA ZR2 IS STUCK IN FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. IT HAS 90000 MILES ON IT. FUSES ARE GOOD.I LIVE IN DENVER, I LEFT IT IN 4X4 OVERNIGHT, COULD IT FREEZE UP? THE 4X4 LIGHT IS ON, BUT WILL NOT SWITCH BACK TO 4X2.

Hi Neal, nothing against you at all, because you did not know the entire story. When GMC built the truck they routed the wiring harness under the hood too close to the exhaust, shorting out the wires to the 4x4 computer module behind the right passenger plastic kick panel. We had to fix the wires ,then replace the module.
Total bill was $744.00 at the GMC Dealer. Thank you.

Where is the rear anti-lock brake sensor on a 2003 gmc sonoma zr2

On both the 2wd and 4wd sonoma models the abs sensor is on the front not the rear. The way an abs system functions the wheel speed sensor sends a signal to the abs controller with the wheel speed, if it's faulty it may over activate in a sense or will revert to conventional braking in which your brakes would lock up. Your abs light would be illuminated as well. The new sensor costs about 70 dollars fyi. 10 minutes to install yourself

Noise in front end 2002 zr2 blazer

Two things maybe your problem:1 .Front axle actuator to engage 4wd is not releasing. 2. Front axle u-joint needs replacing. Lift car on jacks with front end off ground. Then spin tires by hand as fast as you can and see if you hear the noise and where it is coming from ( spin in both directions).

4 wheel drive will not go in high but will go in low

Try to reset the 4x4 computer. Pull both the ATC fuse and the courtesy lamp fuse for at least one minute then reinstall both fuses. Cycle the key on and off five times. Please rate.
