From the front of the car and starting at the throttle body, locate a large rubber hose coming out of the bottom of the throttle body, this hose comes straight down, then bends towards the front of the car. A plastic pipe connects to this rubber hose and the plastic pipe continues forward, then bends to the passenger side and dives under the wiring harness a few inches and connects to a 2" long rubber hose which is then connected to the PCV. The PCV is made by motorcraft; part # ev-243 or ev-268. Ev268 has a metal hose wraped around it; This is used for coolent on other models (not yours). Bend it slightly and pull it off. The valve has square sides. Use long nose pliers to reach under the wiring harness and turn 1/4 turn counterclockwise to remove and opposite to install.
I think Ford floated the PCV in space and then built the entire car around it. This is, perhaps, the worst PCV location I have encountered.

Absolutely right, David. The front valve cover on my '04 Taurus 3.0 two valver is in the front of the motor, 100% accessable right to left, completely devoid of any attachments, and with a clear, short shot to the throttle body! All the lame brained engineers had to do was install a rear valve cover from a 1999 Ranger 3.0 on the front of the '04!!

SOURCE: Where is pcv valve located on 2005 taurus
It is below the egr valve close to the intake manifold below the intake air sensor, there is a tube running to it from the engine to recirculate exhaust air with fresh air, there is a clamp holding it to the air intake that you need pliers to remove, then you need to turn counter-clockwise 90 degrees to remove, do the reverse to install. to make it easier to access remove the upper intake. The pcv valve is not visible, however, you can identify it by the 3" inch long rubber hose that connects to the steel line running into the bottom of the intake. I have the part and am going to replace it soon, although Ford really makes it difficult to remove it -
pcv valve is located just under the throttle body. remove air cleaner assembly from throttle body and you will see a u shaped hose running horizontally.

Its in the back of the intake. It points straight towards the windshield way.It has a black hose that comes off from it..If your standing in front of the car looking down at the motor at the middle of the motor look straight back and down just after the intake starts to round down you'll see it..
