On a 2001 toyota tacoma the power sterring system doesnt work it makes noise, I already put a new power steering pump and removed all the air trapped inside the lines and still my power sterring system doesn't work, It may have something to do with the powerpressure switch, or one of the hoses may be clogged I don't have a clue.

I believe this is for your tire pressure sensors. If the tire pressure in one of your tires drops it will alert you with a light on your dash. When tire pressure is restored, press this button to reset the sensor.

Try putting foot on brake, or is key in ignition, also over-ride button by shifter. Auto's have safety micro switches in these places so not to have car in drive and start, "extremely dangerous" Try this first easily missed. lol

POWER STEERING PUMP OR HOSE HAS NO SET TIME OR MILEAGE TO FAIL WHEN THEY WEAR OUT THEY WILL FAIL ANY TIME.I WOULD HAVE POWER STEERING HOSE REPLACE FIRST.IF YOUR STEERING WAS NORMALWORKING GOOD BEFORE HOSE RUPTURE NO NOISES OR HARD STEERING.REPLACE POWER STEERING HOSE.BECAUSE POWER STEERING PUMP AND RACK PINION UNIT GOING TO COST RIGHT MUCH.ALSO BY IT BEING A IMPORT.

Assuming you have a known GOOD pump that was replaced. Try turning the wheel right then left while keeping an eye on the fluid level in the pump reservoir.
Probably have air in the system.
SOURCE: Vacuum switch on power steering pump?!?!? What does it do??
Your mechanics are either stupid or are playing stupid. Its to raise the idle speed when there is high power steering pressure. Like when you turn the steering wheel, the pressure goes up, and it raises the engine idle speed. Find one in a junkyard, They have U-Pull IT yards around here, you can get one cheap.
