Replace mirror on motorized, heated side view mirror -old mirror is off and housing seems to be ok. Have a replacement mirrror (used), but I do not know how to line it up--does it just have to be pushed hard? Does motorized element have to be lined up a certain way in order to push on replacement? Thanks!
I believe this is what you are looking for hope this helps.

There is a panel on the inside of the door where the mirror is.
That has to come off.
In some cases the door panel has to come off also.
Under the mirror panel there are nuts that hold the mirror on. Remove the nuts unplug the harness and install the new one.

get a wiring diagaram and check it.
the switch that controls which mirror you want to control could be stuck in the middle,or inoperative
