My Toyo tires on 2008 Toyota Highlander are worn out at 22000 miles. These are the worst tires I have ever had on a new car. I trade about every 3 years. These tires are unacceptable. Toyota will not do anything!!!

Toyota didnt make the tires, so I would not think they would. Contact TOYO. but I doubt they would either. Car Manufactures do not put the best tires on, they send out for bids, and the tire company with the best bid wins.

15,000 miles and my Toyo A20 on my '08 Highlander

15k and they are shot is terrible. Toyo did have lots of trouble with these tires. Check this site for more info-sounds like you will have to fight like heck to get them to do anything though. Good luck'

Should there be an alignment problem with a 2008 Toyota Highlander with 17" Toyo tires @ 20,600 miles? Is this normal wear and tear, or is it a manfacturer defect?

You shouldn't have to change alignment after only a year and 20,000 miles. It must be under warranty - take it back for fix!

2008 highlander hybrid tire 16,000miles and coming apart

Wow! That is terrible. I checked, and sure enough, they are cra_ tires, see the below site for other complaints. It is a shame Toyo and Toyota don't offer a substantial credit/replacement to fix this obvious problem. It would be the 'smart' thing to do, as I'll stay away from Toyo brand now, and stick w/ Honda instead of Toyota. Thanks for bringing it to the attention of the public, it's apparently all you can do. I would send a letter to your state's attorney general's office with your story, and also your state motor vehicle consumer division, which handles complaints on garages, dealerships, etc. Also send your info to a local consumer advocate on tv or in the newspaper, the more you make a stink about these garbage tires, the better chance you'll get some kind of compensation. I don't consider $600 a break in price at all. Good luck.http://www.autopedia.com/APBB/Forum1/HTML/001075.html

Toyota Highlander 08 Tires Shredding & Shot

Check your warranty book, The tire manufacturer provides a warranty as well. You can also sue them in small claims court for the full replacement value. Sometimes sending them a notice of intent to sue is enough to motivate them

I have a 2008 highlander hybrid limited

Contact the Toyo company. toyota will not help you on this one. You need to check to see if there is unusual shredding or peeling or possibly chunks coming off the tires. That is what happened with mine at 14K miles and I am in the process of getting them replaced. Toyota service told me they thought it was normal wear. It was not. After I contacted Toyo, they told me to go to a toyo dealer and have them call the company back. They offered me 100% if I put the same A20 tire onthe vehicle and 70% (100% for unused spare) if I put the new Toyo HT. I chose the latter since it has a 60K mile warranty. What I also found out is the A20 tire is not the same one you can buy now. The new one is the A20A. The original A20 was made specifically for Toyota at their request as an OEM tire. Toyota should have some liability in this and I am fighting them for the 30% cost, but am not holding my breath they will help.
Then only manufacturer of the 245/55R19 is Bridgestone and Toyo at this time.

19" FACTORY TOYO TIRES SHREDDING

Toyo®, Exclusive Tire of 2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, Limited Grade
September 20, 2007– CYPRESS, CALIFORNIA – Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corporation announced today that the Toyo® Open Country® A20 is the exclusive tire of Toyota’s all-new 2008 Highlander Hybrid, Limited grade. In addition, the Open Country® A20 is original equipment on several other models of the 2008 Toyota Highlander, both hybrid and gas.

The Open Country A20 achieved exceptional low rolling resistance performance making it ideal for the hybrid model. The tires were also specifically designed to reduce noise and improve both wet and dry braking for added safety.

Based on the model and trim level of the Highlander, the Open Country A20 comes in two sizes: P245/65R17 105S and P245/55R19 103S.

Toyo manufactures and distributes a complete line of replacement tires for high performance cars, luxury vehicles, light trucks and SUVs as well as tires for commercial trucks, buses and off-road and construction applications.

I'm surprised if it's so good at braking that it has not ripped my entire tire tread off as technicians say the treat is separating well before its time!
