Ml500 mercedes service and engine lights on dash on not time for service yet. i want to reset it with buttons in car .pse assist

It resets the check engine/service light on the dash. Press and hold "wrench" button while turning the ignition to "Start" on AUDI and Mercedes. Fun fact: The Mercedes automoblie was named after the carmaker's Daughter. Not the other way around.as is true with Porsche or Chevy namesakes. Happy Motoring, TechJoel

Turn the ignition key 2 clicks (postion II) and then quickly push trip button twice, you should see time or mileage remaining for service.hold trip button down and turn key off, keep trip button down do not release, with trip still down turn key back on to the II postion continue to hold button for about 10 sec,you will hear the dash beep and the display will read 10000,all set release trip and turn key off. let me know the outcome. good day

Turn key to ON, not run just ON, so all the dash lights are on, press the O botton twice quickly, like twice in one sec. Service reset will come on with the little wrench symbol, immediately turn key to the off position, press the zero button and hold it in while turning the key to the on position again, hold the button till it beeps, release button and turn key to off position.

While your in the car anyway do the ecu reset and set the learned driver values back to the factory settings,like an instant tune up in two minutes time... (FSS = Flexible Service System)

You will need a code reader/scanner called OBD2. They are under $50. A nice one can cost $100-$3,000. Just buy one that does the job...no need for the more expensive ones. You can borrow one from some auto parts stores, like the AutoZone.
You can also pay a shop this much to do it for you, every time.
Just select erase codes, and you're done.

your car is over due service you will need to have service light reset its just a indcator to let you no your car is due a service.

1 key on #1 position
2 go to mph display in the cluster
3 press trip odometer knob three times (QUICK) voltage will appear on display
4 Select service menu using + or -
5 Service Indicator Displays Items
6 Press the menu systems button until the MPH display appears

Turn the key on and turn the wheels lock to lock all the way left and right. This should clear it.

Check your manual. It should describe it. Turn Ignition on, hold in button within one second, turn ignition to position 1, then hold button 10 seconds until you hear a beep. Something like that.... if my memory serves me correctly. Just did it to my ML500 (2003)
