I have a 2002 Acura MDX and my dash VTM-4 light is on, any suggestions why it has come on?

the VTM-4 relates to torque management for the 4 wheel drive / all wheel drive part of the transmission. I have had people tell me more than once that that VTM-4 issue went away after having the cylinder head valves adjusted.
A little google search may back this up.

When you clear the codes and the problem has not been fix after 10 miles of driving the warnings return. I am sorry but I am not sure what is causing the indicator lights. Have you looked up all the remaining codes?

It means there is a problem with the transfer case, 4wd system.
try disconnecting the battery for 2-3 minutes and see if it clears.
if not get it decoded at AutoZone or Kragens with their scanner.

It may also be one of the Oxygen sensors. I had the same problem and Acura told me that the front O2 sensor needed to be replaced. When that happens, for whatever reason the 4wd system is automatically disabled until you replace it. It is safe to drive but yoy have no all wheel drive right now.

You will only know the system with the malfunction,
when you retrieve any codes

Then diagnose the issue, using the codes and
a trouble chart

VTM-4 LIGHT is the 4x4 option you can use when your in the auto shift gears 1 and 2. When you put the shifter in 1 or 2 gear, you can push the VTM-4 button on dash and you will engage the 4 wheel drive constently. If you switch out of 1st or 2nd gear it will disengage automatically. The VTM-4 also works in reverse gear. Hope this helps.

its a sensor packed up visit a local mechanic to fit a new sensor

vtm light is not on where is fuse 05 acura mdx

Immediately take your car to a dealership. You run the risk of a major catestrpohic component failure. I wish I offer you a better alternative. Best of luck!
