I took it out of the garage an saw tranny fluid on the floor. Everytime I drive it, it smells like burnt fluid. The car is a 2.2L AWD.
I assume you have the 4 speed auto and that it is red auto transmission fluid which is leaking.
You obviously have a leak from the transmission itself, or from a transmission fluid hose, which must be identified and fixed urgently. The leaking fluid is no doubt coming into contact with the hot exhaust system (often by blow back) which will give you a burning fluid smell.
You must ensure you check the transmission fluid level immediately and top it up with the correct spec fluid. Otherwise the transmission will malfunction if very low on fluid and you will potentially damage it.
You need to need to get the vehicle to a Subaru dealer for service or to a competent/reputable auto transmission specialist to have the leak identified and fixed as soon as possible.

You check the auto transmission fluid with the dip stick which on your car should be located on the driver's side of the transmission and labeled. When you pull it out the fluid on the stick should be pale red/pink. When checking the level, the car must be level, the engine must be idling and the auto transmission in park or neutral. There should be "cold" and "hot" fluid level markings on the dip stick.
You top up the auto transmission through the dip stick tube.

Well first off if your transmission fluid smells burnt then you really no need to check it you really need to replace it. what this really means is your clutch plates in your clutch pack are worn or worn out.
