Yes there is a fuse, labeled alt fuse and its under the hood in the relay fusebox, if the car is not charging, then just check for power to the alternator, the small wire not the big one, good luck,
No. The battery is charged by the alternator by a direct connection. There is a device known as a voltage regulator which is built into the alternator - on older vehicles it was a separate part. When the alternator fails to produce a charge it usually gives an indication by a dash light or a gauge showing that it is not charging. When the alternator / regulator fail there is nothing to charge the battery. The common fix is to replace the alternator.
