Hi:
You must first drain and lower the fuel tank, as your pump is mounted inside. With the fuel tank supported, undo the tank mounting straps, and the filler hose, then slowly lower it until you can disconnect the fuel lines and electrical harness. The pump assembly is now accessable. Remove and replace the assembly , then reinstall the tank .

The fuel pump is located in your gas tank. You have to releive the pressure of the system, drain the tank on drop it. On some models, the fuel pump and sending unit are one unit, on some models the pump can be replaced separatly

I have a 98 chevy s10 blazer 2wd 4 door nad my fuel gauge dont work its stuck on empty i changed the fuel pump several time thinkn it would fix the problem but i didnt. i need a picture or sumthing to show...

You could try changeing the fuel pump relay The fuel gauge signal come from the pump and goes through the relay to the gauge and on your vehicle the pump will still work even if the relay is bad it has a back up power system through the oil pressure sending unit . The relay is located inside of the glove box behind a panal its the one on the far left. I also have wiring schematic of the system but would need to fax it . If you want it get back to me with a fax #

How do i get to the fuel pump on a 1997 s10 blazer

Unless there is an access panel inside the vehicle above the fuel pump, you will have to remove the fuel tank in order to access the pump. Do not forget to replace the fuel filter. Partially clogged fuel filter is one of the causes of a failed fuel pump.

89-98 chevy blazer

It's not worth doing all that conversion, buy the time you spend the time and money to convert the 89 4.3 to work on the 98 blazer, it would be cheaper to install a 98 vortec rebuild. The 89 4.3 have a TBI fuel injection system and the ecm on the 98 will not work and the bad news is that the ecm on the 98 also controls the transmission shift points and the 89 will not, so even if you swap the ecm to have the 89 4.3 engine work. the transmission will not shift. Sorry for the bad news but it would be cheaper to replace the 98 engine with the years of 1996 to 2001. Good luck and hope this helps.

S10 blazer starting problems

First thing to do is chg. fuel filter, than if that don't help, do a fuel pressure chk. pump might be getting weak. if all that chks. out ok it could be fuel regulator, but most likely its either the filter or pump.

1991 chevy s10 blazer

Check the fuse under the dash. Did you replace the inline fuel filter? If not, you could loosen the line going into the filter then turn the key to the on position. The pump should run for about 2 seconds then the relay should kick off. Turn off the key for approx. 5 seconds then cycle key back on and the pump should cycle again. If you get a 2 second burst of fuel each time then the pump is cycling. Install a new fuel filter and check the grounded wire by the tank. Hope this helps. :)
