I have a 1992 Hyundai Elantra and it trys to turn over but it will stop. If I keep the key in position it will just keep trying over and over. After a few times of trying it will start kind of shaking the car. Before it would start after about 10 min of doing this, but now it doesn't start at all.

I would return it to the installer

I do not know what could have caused this but when i lock my car... ... lock yourdoors with your key fob(might have to hit the lock button twice) ... The alarm/horn should start beeping. ... 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T R-spec in Karussel White.... My lights flash when I lock it, but the horn doesn't sound.

After connecting battery, try using key in drivers door to lock, and /or unlock. Try passenger if that doesn't work, as well as valet key if it came with one.

to put key in ignition, turn it to the on position, wait one minute, then turn to off position and pull key out and this should resolve the problem. I know it's what to do on the 2006 model.. it may not work, but at least this is something to try. Hope this helps!!

have you checked for spark and if not start there check the plugs and if there good check the coil

check the fuel pressure might need a new pump

ok are you ready, first turn the ign on but do not turn the key to the start position, the alarm should sound, as soon as the alarm stops sounding, count 10 seconds then start the vehicle,this will disable the alarm unless you set it with the remote, if that doesent disable it repeat above again it has to be 10 second count after alarm stops..

There is NO kill switch on the 2000 Elantra... HOWEVER, there is a thing called the Key Fob (keyless remote entry system). There is, however, a system in place called the 'starter kill' circuit and it is activated when the burglar alarm goes off.... it's called the burglar alarm relay and it is activated to prevent the engine starter system from being used. There are three ways to get the engine started in such a circumstance... 1. use the key fob to 'disarm' the system... 2. put the key in the ignition and turn it to the 'RUN" position and wait until the alarm stops (horn stops beeping and the parking lights stop flashing), then the engine will start.... 3. pull the starter relay from the UnderHood junction box and bypass the starter circuit (key in ignition and in the 'RUN' position), jumper the starter solenoid circuit to energize the solenoid to start cranking the engine -- it should start then.

Wayneard is correct. with one hand on the ignition key try to turn the key towards start. With your other hand hold the steering wheel and turn slightly in either direction. This will take the locking pressure off the ignition cylinder. To prevent this from re-occuring be sure steering wheel is in a straight position before removing key from cylinder. Then be sure not to use steering wheel as a lifting point to get out of the car. If you do the wheel will move into a locked position, which is what you are experiencing now. Keep me posted
