My 1999 oldsmobile aurora radio antenna is on a motor and only comes up when i turn the radio on every once in a while, leaving me with no radio signal. any hints??

THE OLDSMOBILE ALERO DONT HAVE A EXTERNAL ANTENNA MAST. THE OLDS ALERO HAVE WIRE GRID ANTENNA INCORPORATED INTO THE DEFOGGER GRID IN THE REAR WINDOW.THE GRID ANTENNA HAVE A REAR WINDOW ANTENNA MODULE MOUNTED BEHIND TOP OF THE REAR SEAT BACK. THE RADIO ANTENNA CABLE GOES TO ANTENNA MODULE LOCATED TOP OF THE REAR SEAT BACK.
LOOK UNDER PASSENGER SIDE OF THE DASH.REMOVE THE RIGHT SOUND INSULATOR.YOU WILL SEE BLOWER MOTOR ITS A TIGHT SPOT.FIRST DISABLE AIRBAGS FIRST SINCE YOU HAVE ONE IN DASH.FIRST TURN OFF RADIO.THEN DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE FOR 15 TO 20 MINUTES SO THE AIR BAGS CAN DISCHARGE.BEFORE WORKING AROUND THE DASH OR STEERING WHEEL AREA.
Remove the plastic shroud above the headlights when you open the hood.The head lights use bulbs that go in from the back,disconnect wiring connector and turn the bulb 1/4 turn to the right and it should come right out.
They are all random codes that are stored in the radio. The radio can lock it's self with possible 10.000 differant codes. You will need to take it to the dealer to have them use the gm scaner to retreive the code that is in the radio then they call the gm headquarters and those egg heads give an unlock code for the car. was it cold out when this happen and if so this is what happen the antenna is frozen and it striped the plastic strip that brings the antenna up and down and now have to replace the hole motor
on the base of the antenna mast is a chrome nut (14mm?) unsrew that, then turn radio on , it will eject the guide cable. then insert the new cable, turn radio off and wait like 15sec then the motor will take in the new cable then put the chrome nut back on> thats it
