There are seperate fuses however did you check the bulbs. they could just need replacing. there will be fuses for left and right. should be under the hood.

High beams work for both lights, 1 low beam does not

Check for power with a test light with the light connected. If you have power then its the ground. If no power then you will need to trace the wire back to find break. As I recall they did have seperate fuse for left and right headlight high & low beam. Also did you get a defective new bulb?

Main beam lights not working

It's possible the "main" lights elements have burnt out.
I believe it's a single bulb per side with both high and low beam elements inside.
Try replacing a bulb and see what that does.

Both headlights went out at the same time. Why?

faulty relay or low beam fuse - some of these were fitted with seperate fuses for high & low beam, though my first thought would be the relay.

2005 Chevy Impala Headlight

hi from uk for info the dip beams have a seperate fuse in fuse box for each side offside and nearside so if bulb is ok ? check fuses if you have h/book ? it will give location and amperage of fuse required also the same goes for the side/tail licence plate lights are on seperate fuses so you do not lose all lights if fuse goes

2004 Outback: headlights stopped working.

either the headlight switch is defective or the dimmer is, it can't be anything else, do the hi beams work ok, have you tried wiggling the dimmer switch to see if the low beams flicker?

Low beam headlights do not work, but high beam headlights do

Clyde,

I've been troubleshooting this same problem on a different vehicle this week, and I can give you the steps I'd take.

1. If both sides went out at the same time, the problem is *NOT* likely to be the bulbs.

2. Check the fuses to see if both low beam lights are on the same fuse. Many cars have one fuse for low beam and another for high beam, so both lights out at the same time typically means fuse blown.

3. If the headlights are OK and the fuses are OK, then the problem is *LIKELY* the headlight switch. In my case, AutoZone has one and it can be installed easily; but in your case, that may not be as simple.

Please post your findings or comments.
