check the fuel pressure and flow , if the pressure is low replace the pump, if the flow is low replace the fuel filter,the injectors may need some attention at that mileage.

unless your xterra is supercharged, you really do not need to replace it. its a lot of work, because its located way down under the upper plenum and lower intake. its way down there. if it is supercharged, you do need to replace it, because it puts the supercharger into fail safe mode and truck till not run to its full potencial.
Take the old freeze plug out, and replace with the appropriate sized one available from your local dealer, or put a rubber freeze plug in that has a range of size depending on how much you screw the center adjustment bolt/nut in.

I recommend 60-90K Cost depends on the dealerships labor but usually when your doing a timing belt, radiator hoses and fan belts are removed and should be replaced while your in there. Its about 3hrs, more if other things need to be replaced while in there. So you looking at $300+ for labor only
