MY 98 HONDA ACCORD 4CYL AUTOMATIC STARTER IS ONLY CLICKING HOW CAN I START IT OTHERWISE. CAN I HIT THE STARTER?

If you can hear the clicking sound, there is a good possibility that the starter solenoid is working alright. With a voltmeter check the terminals at the starter itself, not the solenoid, and it should read ZERO volts. At the moment of turning on the ignition you should have 12 volts. If this is the case, then the starter motor is locked/ temporarily frozen, or it went bad. If no voltage on turning on, then you will have to trace the cables that lead to the starter. If you insist on using jumper cables on the starter motor, i recommend that you disconnect ALL electricity from the starter, in order to avoid damage to the ECU and other delicate engine electronic components. Jump start the starter just to unfreeze it, to get it turning, not to start the engine.

How to remove starter from 1998 Honda Accord LX 4cyl?

Detach the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Caution: If you have an anti-theft radio, make sure you have the activation code before disconnecting the battery.

Remove the battery and battery tray from the engine compartment (remove the battery first, then remove the bolts for the battery tray and remove it.).

Remove the lower radiator hose and the wiring harness from the starter bracket. Make sure they are positioned out of the way.

Clearly label, then disconnect the wires from the terminals on the starter motor solenoid (the smaller cylinder attached to the starter). Disconnect any clips securing the wiring to the starter.

Remove the mounting bolts (two) and detach the starter (pull it gently out of its housing).

Reverse this procedure for installation.

Hope this is of help to you.

1992 honda accord wagon lx 4cyl. battery good all lights, radio work when i turn the key on but when i try to start nothing, no noise nothing, can u help?

It's probably the starter or cable to the starter. If you can get to it check it with a voltmeter while someone turns the key to engage the starter motor. If you have 12volts DC and it doesn't turn it is the starter.Good luck...
