Re: 2000 Volvo S70, automatic
Where is the transmission dipstick? On the drivers side near the lower radiator hose there is a vertical black rubber tube with a yellow cap. Is this it? I can't pull a dipstick out. Do I have to take off the hose clamps? Then what? Check with engine running in park? How do I add transmission fluid? The owner's manual does not mention transmission fluid except to say that it should be checked.
Thanks,
KL

Your heater core is leaking. The smell and smoke is from the coolant evaporation.
SOURCE: volvo s70 radio code
You must take the car to a Volvo dealer so they can reference the code from the VIN number. If you call it in, they only assume you stole the radio. Sometimes you have to prove you own the car.

IT is very easy get all of the intake ducts out of the way to get access to the starter motortakk off rubber boot and first disconnect neg battery terminal next unbolt two bolts that hold starter and the 3 wires and ground terminal from starter (i have a 14 millimeter wrench that i cuit in half to make removal easier) and you should be all-set

use Volvo ATF fluid or Mobil 3309 ATF, the Mobile 3309 may be cheaper.
