2007 GMC Envoy - Gas gauge showing empty and check engine light

You need to get the codes for the check engine light, but the full gage issue this is most likely the sending unit in the gas tank.

Check the fuses first, possible the sending unit on the fuel tank is bad.

It is most likely your fuel level sending unit has gone bad. It sits inside your fuel tank to tell the fuel guage how much gas you have in the tank.

The sending unit for the gas gauge is in the fuel tank and part of the fuel pump module, it is not sold seperately. Price is around $350.00, 2 hours labor to install the part.

The fuel level sensor is bad and will need to be replaced. The tank will have to come down to replace the sender.

Remove the sender wire from the fuel tank and short it to ground (metal part of tank).

If the fuel gauge goes to full then your sender unit is faulty and replace it.If not ,please come back to me .

to coorrect this u will need to pull the gas tank and replace the fuel gage sending unit inside the gas tank, hwerwe is the part number for the fuel module which has the seding unit in it.

Common problem on the 03-06 Envoy instrument clusters for the fuel gauge to go out. It's usually caused by one of two main problems, either the stepper motor on the cluster's circuit board is going out or the sending unit on the fuel pump is going out. The sending unit in your tank is bad replace it.

Suspect faulty fuel sender. Fuel sender is attached to fuel pump in tank.

The float that moves the gas hand is possibly stuck in the tank. If there's isn't an access hole in the rear of the vehicle you'll have to drop the tank. Unless it becomes free on it's own. Hope this is helpful. Please rate. Thanks
