Transmossion problem on a1998 chevy ck1500 with a 4.3l vortek, 4l

I have a 1998 chevy ck1500 with a 4.3l vortek and 4l60e trans. Driving to work one morning the trans acted like it popped into neutral, when I got below 50mph it went into third and stayed there. I could manually get second and reverse but no first or fourth. Also the check engine light went on. If I shut the truck off then restart it drives normal for a few hundred miles then it happens again. I checked the code and it came up "shift solenoid B electrical circuit". I replaced both A and B solenoids and it still does it every couple of hundred miles. took it to a trans shop and they think it might be the computer but not sure.

Only diagnostic procedures will find the exact cause. Unless you have the info and the tools to perform this your going to have to have a shop perform this for you.
Guessing only works if your always lucky when you go to Vegas.

In general, most trucks or cars would have it closest to the crankshaft. Some are located near or behind the main pulley in front of the engine. Some would be located near the flywheel side of the engine.

My 2007 Jeep Liberty has started to "shimmy" when I put in in reverse and when I'm pulling into a parking space. I have it in 2wh drive but it feels like it's in 4wh. Any advice?

are you using 4wd /yes /no
are you on ice, or off road?
or just pavement ice free,
we cant guess that. and is KEY
car comes new with 3 different 4wd systems
first 2 are part time
and last full time 4wd and 4lo (PT)
all three stay out of
part time on icefree pavement
4lo is part time too, and same rules its for offroad only.
sure
the cluster has 3 lamps
fulltime
part time
and
4 LO
tell me, does or has fulltime ever come on in 4wd
if yes,its AWD jeep.
if not the car is part time, in 4wd
and is only for iced roads or offroad.

5min work look at rear of transfer case
bingo, now you know what you got

Will a transmission from a1998 Chevy Suburban 4x4 fit a 1997 Chevy 4x4 1500?

Check the trans serial/ model numbers to get better info. The only changes could be the gearing ratio's for different models. Go online to one of the bigger 4X4 owners forums and see if its answered there.

Overdrive Transmission Problem ?

Stop using it-- for sure-- if trans related

10 miles of driving with a trans problem, can ruin it

Have it checked for codes & diagnosed

Have to have professional tools used

Can not keep driving & go to parts store for free stuff

1997 chevy 2500 4wd new push button switch new transfer case motor will not go into 4 lo

Are putting the vehicle into 4H then shifting the trans into neutral then pushing the 4L button? If so there may be a controler behind the dash. I can't remember on a 97 for sure but I am almost certain there is a control module behind the dassh switch.

94' blazer will not strart just died one day while driving it .i replaced fuel pump,fuel filter,fuel ragulater, if you spray starting fluid in it it will start but then die whin the starting fluid burns...

check to make sure they sold you the right fuel pump. they are two pumps for a 4.3 ones a vortek and one is a throtlle body. the eighth digit of the vin will tell you one is a vin w and one is a vin z. the throtlle body only puts out about 11psi of pressure and the vortek puts out about 60psi of pressure.if you put the throttle body pump in a vortek engine there is not enough fuel pressure to run it.

94 Golf with automatic transmossion won't shift into top gear

TRANS HAS TEMP SENSOR IN PAN WIRING, IF TCM SEES HI TEMP, WILL HOLD TRANS OUT OF TOP GEAR. NEED SCAN TOOL TO CHECK TCM TRANS TEMP AGAINST TRUE OIL TEMP.

I want to know if you can change a 97 7.4 vortek with a 5.7 vortek plug and go? Or if there are changes that need to be made?

the ecm ,motor mounts, trans and the wiring harness will all have to be changed for the swap to work
