Aztek 01 headlights going out.

My 2001 Aztek goes through headlights like crazy. Four in a few years and the last ones only lasted a few weeks. The quality of the headlight makes no diference. Only the regular beams not the high beams. Mostly the passenger side

Check for moister in the lamp head, and have the alternator checked,it should be from 13.65,to 14.25,volts only, any more, that will be the problem, also,if the alternator checks out ,with in range, have a mechanic check the alternator for ac voltage,if the alternator diode,or diodes, have gone out,it will produce some ac voltage, therefore blowing lamps, and eventually ignition components, and e c m.

Aztek 2001 headlights going out.

Headlights commonly only last a 350-400 hours. If you're not getting this, you might have a power problem OR are using lower quality bulbs.
I like to use Narva Artic Blues - they have a higher output and last longer. Also, most auto stores will provide a free replacement if they blow very quickly.
Check the fuse for your headlights - if it is incorrect change it and replace it with the correct fuse. Other than this, you may like to check the wiring - check all the connections are secure and that there are no shorts in the cable.
Hope this helps, Sherwin

Check engine light on for sometime; Response to throttle sluggish

If your catalytic converter is "below efficiency" or otherwise clogged, you will lose power as you drive and the vehicle heats. The more you drive the vehicle, the worse the problem will become. The exhaust can't escape properly through the catalytic converter, therefore your engine won't run properly. Your issues are related, and if you replace your catalytic converter they should go away.

2001 beetle: I've replaced, at least 10 headlight blubs in the past two years. the last one lasted two weeks. Any info or help. Thank you

Put some waterproof electrical grease (you can get at auto zone) on end of bulb before you put in in! The reason bulbs are blowing, is they are getting wet!

Both of my headlights burned out about the same time a year and a half ago. I then replaced a few months ago, now the other one blew. It seems that these two lights both burned out too soon. Possible...

I've got a 2001 Elantra that "eats" headlights. Within the last five years, I've probably replaced both headlights 10-15 times. Last time I bought bulbs, the clerk at the Auto Zone recommended coating the connection points of the bulbs in electrical grease (which is different than regular grease). It's usually sold in small foil packages at the check-outs. Anyway, this seemed to prolong the life of the bulbs by 3-4 times. It's a cheap fix that didn't completely solved the problem, but sure cut down on the number of bulb replacements.
