Recently after a rain storm noticed front driver

It would be helpful to have the code that is setting when the check engine light comes on. Drop by your local auto parts dealer for a free scan and they will tell you what the code is and what part is creating the problem. Almost always, if it sets during wet weather, it is due to a poor/loose connection as opposed to a defective sensor. I would purchase some electrical contact cleaner from that same dealer and unplug the connector to the (now identified) sensor. Spray out the connection and allow to dry, then reconnect. You may want to repeat the disconnect/spray/reconnect procedure a few times to insure a good connection. Then make an effort to insulate the offending connector from moisture. This may be as simple as tie-strapping it up and away from road spray. Good luck.

Could the sloshing water be in your roof lining? If the rain seeped in at the windscreen or back window, it could be in the lining. In that case the lining would have to be removed and probably replaced. To find out, just push on the lining with your hand in several places.

Local auto parts store will sell that part. I had the same issue with my car and a few clients have had that issue. We ended up just taking the tube off completely. But we also live in California where the rain isnt all that bad.

it might be a door/ windor seal or it could be a heating component leaking. im sure that the heater core is on the passenger side but when they begin to leak they cause a localized leak much like your description.

It could have been as simple as some water grounding your coil for a while (car wash? big rain storm?). If the car is running great now, you probably just have a code stored in the ECU. Autozone and O'reilly usually have a code reader which can be used to delete the code. They won't delete it for you, but they will hand you the device and let you press the button... haha. Either way, you need to get it to someone with a code reader to have the code removed. Any auto dealer can do it for a fee. I'm sure Land Rover will charge you a lot, but you can really go to any dealer. The diagnostic port is the same for all cars after 1996. Btw, the Freelander is based on the Ford Escape... so your local Ford dealer should know how to work on it as well.

i went to advance auto and they pulled the check engine light code and they said it was just wet electrical equipment from all the rain we have had and that it would dry out in a couple of drives so they reset the code and told me to come back in if it comes back on.
