Hi - I wanted to buy oil for my 94 landcruiser and was wondering what kind I should get. The manual recommends 10W30, but I can not find whether it should be synthetic or not?

Of course synthetic is better, but it seems to me that regular oil is fine, and you need to change is often enough to get rid of water and acids, so that you don't really need synthetic.
Personally I also prefer 10W40, because it holds up better on heavy wear, like on the camshaft. But 10W30 gets slightly better mileage.

There is no need for synthetic. A brand name 10W30
conventional or high mileage oil will be fine.

What type of oil I used for a 1998 Dodge Caravan

Is this a trick question? I assume you meant what kind of oil Should you use? Any 5W30, 10W30, 10W40 will due. Check the owners manual to use manufactures recommendations tho.If someone ever used synthetic oil, you may want to stick with that.As far as Brand names of oil...Take your pick. I have only had one engine that blew up because of oil. And that was because there was none in the engine. Happy Shopping.

Which engine oil is preferred for daihatsu hijet cargo 660cc and in what quantity?

Diahatsu recommends 5W30 SAE or 10W30 either semi-or fully synthetic. Fully synthetic is better oil. Whether you choose 5W30 or 10W/30 depends on your climate. If you have frequent days before zero C, 32 degrees Fahrenheit, you may opt for the 5W30; otherwise, the 10W30 in the one you'll want. Selenia oil tends to be the least expensive of the synthetics and it's a fine oil. (I buy mine at Carefour Suermarket.) FUCHS is also very good and doesn't dent your pocket book. Mobil 1 and Vavoline are quite expensive in Europe, and Motul and ENEOS are outrageous.

Just doing an oil change, what grade of oil needed

handbook recommends 5w30. I personally use 10W30. It leaves a better film on the pistons so when you start up the engine there isnt a knock. 5W30 makes a small ticking sound when you first start up but then goes away. If you want a brand recommendation I recommend Castrol GTX or Motorcraft
