Hi welcome main problems are the abs valves causing the 3 dash lights (search 3 amigos online) a really badly sited compressor can cause air suspension models to fail giving the bags a slow leak the V8 is a solid engine but can have radiator expansion tank and cap failures
the other issue is electrics windows and door looms are problematic
1. Release the pressure from the fuel system
2. Access to the filter is gained through the RH rear wheel arch.
3. Loosen fuel unions and remove hoses. Clean the ends of debris.
4. Fit new filter observing direction of flow arrows.
5. Tighten to 30nM
When you say whine does it only occur under acceleration only? If so most likely the wheel hub assembly or some will say wheel bearing but on these vehicles it is complete hub assembly. If you turn or swerve one way then the other does it go away in one direction? If so another strong indication of hub wearing out. If not, and it is a really high whine with acceleration it is also possibly the transmission. I have heard of this complaint before, it's not a sign of failure just a noise that develops due to the pressure placed on bearing under a load. First change fluid and filter for tranny after a good flushing. Replace with high quality fluid and a bottle of transmission seal restore product. Go 1000 miles, change fluid again, if noise is still there turn up radio. Sorry but just a whine under acceleration isn't a lot to go on. But I'm willing to bet wheel hub. 9 out of ten front end whine complaints is wheel hub or bearing especially on a heavy 4x4 suv
Remove the front wheels and four wheel drive hubs.
The hub is pressed off using a bolt threaded in the center to push on the front axle.
Remove the hub to disc bolts.
Replace the disc and reinstall the disc to hub bolts torqued to 73 Newton Meters with loctite 270 applied to the threads.
Hi, Well , Your rig has an air ride suspension. The fix may be simple. A loose air line. Expensive , The compressor, the air bags or control valve. There is available an after-market non air suspension kit. Sorry ---- other than the loose air lines it get's spendy. I do not know the prices.
The fuel filter is mounted to the frame just ahead of the right rear tire. You can see it through the wheel well. The fittings are very likely to be frozen so I would soak them with some penetrating oil before you try to loosen them. if it is not starting however, I would focus more on the ignition system, the ignition module near the coil in the front left side of the engine compartment may be bad.
its the abs sensors which are part of the front hub/wheel bearing assembly get the lights reset by a dealer if it happens again u will need 2 renew one or both of the hubs £200 per side tho!
