The radio turns on and thats about it. I thought it was the battery because it won't turn over but there is a little bit of juice in the battery.

I have an 1989 ford ranger 4cyl 2.3L. I hit a water puddle and my truck shut off and it wont start.

sounds like water got into the starter somehow. mine did the same thing and it was because my starter was loose enough to let water in

The 2002 Ford Ranger XLT airbag light blinks

The airbag is there, what's most likely wrong is the key switch may be going bad. Take your Ranger to a reputable mechanic and ask them to check it...unless you have an OBD II or a multimeter.

New battery, car wont start..mechanic says to hit the starter..where is the starter...?

first, the starter is on the bottom of the engine toward the back and has a large wire from the battery attached to it. Second, if a mechanic said to hit it he is a pretty sorry mechanic who you should never let work on even your bicycle. Hitting a starter can damage it to the point it can't be rebuilt as it cracks the housing and wire loom assy inside. Sure, it might start a time or two like that but will cost you dearly in the long run.
