Changing the spark plugs is a pretty easy task. The spark plugs run along both sides of the engine (if its a V block) , 1 per cylinder. You can easily identify them by the plug wires running to them from the distributor. Pop off each plug wire, (1 at a time) and replace the spark plug. Once you have replaced the plug, replace the plug wire. This ensures that you dont mess up the sequence of the wires which determines which cylinder fires at what time in the cycle. VERY important not to mess up the sequence. If you should happen to get the wires mixed up, look online for the firing sequence for your vehicle and engine.
That is not accurate. On the ford 2.3L engines, they used a dual plug system (8 plugs in a four cylinder engine). This can be a ver daunting task for a beginner and presents a lot of danger for breaking and cross-threading plugs. There are some risks of serious harm to an engine if not done correctly.
ALWAYS CHECK PLUG GAPS
ALWAYS USE ANTISEIZE ON PLUG THREADS
ALWAYS BE CERTAIN NOT TO CROSS-THREAD OR REMOVE PLUGS FROM O HOT ENGINE

When you change the plug what color is the tip of the old one? This could be the answer to your problems. It should be a light beige or tan if everything is working properly.Just take one of the old plugs down to your local garage and get the mechanic to have a look at it. He'll be able to tell you why it keeps misfiring. Hope this helps.

Did you replace the wires? if not you may have broken a couple of wires. Not sure what fire wire is unless you mean the spark plug wires. Also did it do this before you replaced the plugs? need to know.
