You can jump out the security.. you can not trade out chips...you can try a relearn process.. as follows.. turn ignition on for ten minutes do not crank. after ten minutes turn key off then right back on for another 10 minutes...then one more time off then back on for ten minutes..then off hen try to crank.. if car starts then done.. if not send me email for way to jump out ignition.. kbutlrtech at yah00.com

96 cutlass supreme 2 dr. coupe wont release from park also breake lights wont work

the brake light issue is probably causing the shifter not to work because when you press the brake it tells the shift lock system to allow the vehicle to be shifted from park. If there is no power there it won't work and both systems usually work off of the same switch. if you check the fuse panel for a stoplamp or brake fuse it will probably be blown....replace it and your shifter will probably work once again as well.
hope this works for you....good luck!

1994 oldsmobile cutlass supreme will not start.security flashes

Sounds like a RFID issue. Your key most likely has a chip inside of it. Most of the time people will have multiple keys on their key chain that can cause interference with the receiver in your steering column. Try using the one ignition key to start.

I'm having trouble changing my turn signal switch can you help me

Changing the turn signal switch is a fairly involved process. You'll need to disable and remove the driver's side airbag, the steering wheel, and the SIR coil in the steering column. You'll need a steering wheel puller and a lock plate compressor, in addition to the normal assortment of sockets, screwdrivers and Torx drivers. Autozone has detailed instructions for disabling the airbag, removing the steering wheel, and replacing the switch on their web site. I printed their directions and several of the diagrams and was able to replace the switch without any major problems.

Be prepared to spend some time on this--even the simplest steps can take more time that you expect. Case in point: Step 1--disconnect the negative battery terminal. To do this on my 96 Cutlass required removing a cross member under the hood and the windshield washer reservoir.

Good luck!
