Find your throttle body (it's under the plastic cover):

The Idle Air Control Valve (IAC) is on its backside. Here it is with the manifold off (just for a better view, you don't need to remove the manifold):

Hope this helps - if it does, give me some thumbs!

Engine intermittently kills at stop signs and then start right up again. 2003 Olds Intrigue

Could be tuneup items, or more likely idle air control valve is dirty.

1999 Olds Intrigue starts right up but idles so poorly it will not move.

Id try cleaning the idle air control or replacing it. Clean the MAF sensor with MAF cleaner. Seafoam the intake too. See what happens after that.

Rpm drops at idl speedand stalls ok at highway speed

Hi,

not knowing the engine type fitted in your Olds, I suggest to check / clean or better replace the idle control valve - also check all hoses for leaks,

this should solve your problem.

If not, the ignition system should be checked for damage (wiring, plugs etc,)

Why does the engine just die in my 1999 Olds Intrigue?

You need to do some basic tests to eliminate or get closer to the issue. Possibilities: 1) Fuel delivery 2) Ignition signal lost temporarily 3) Engine air leak - causes rough slow idle/stalling. 4) Bad MASS air flow sensor. etc, etc.

I have a 2002 Olds Intrigue that has an intermittent problem with the air conditioner/heater not working. No indicator lights show during this time and occasionly the Cruise light comes on. No real pattern...

Follow the blower wires. I believe you should find a relay. I suggest testing it as well. Make sure it is good. Also make sure fuse is good and secure. Test your control switches and check all the vacuum lines and wiring

CLEANING THE MAF SENSOR ON MY '99 INTRIGUE

You don't clean them, you get a new one. Usually if it's the MAF, it'll start and die, start and die. If your's is stalling, it'll be the idle air control valve, or the fuel filter, or the idle control system, or a vacuum leak at the intake or vacuum hoses. Good luck.
