Hi,i have a 900 with the b204i, i had the same problem, the clutch was dead at my car and the gerabox oil was black like the road. saab bring later a new oil for gearboxes 80W-90 fully synthetic, i give my saab this oil ad a new clutch kit and the problems were away, and after 1000 kilometres the gear switching was very easier as before! sorry for the bad english. best wishes from germany!

if it is ok,check the fan switch on the radiator,change the thermostat,and check that the fan is working.
the fan has to work,saab engines run very hot.
there is a after run fan switch as well that measures engine compartment temperature,and can start the fan even with the car off,so be careful.
yes. switch to synthethic. you will feel a huge difference in performance, epecially at take off. you will also get longer life out of the engine. you can never go wrong with synthetic
the lights are most likely the third brake light on the decklid... small line of led brake lights small unit.. i would clean the ignition switch with some quick start and cycle the key in and out to clean up the contact on the bottom some times soda or coffe gets in there and makes the car think that the cars key is in the ignition
