Using a high grade full synthetic is the best.
the oil grade which is 10w30 is for average driving conditions.
for winter,5w30 and 10w40 for summer is also recommended by alot of car manufacturers. The oil filler cap will tell you the oil grade.

Oil not commimg out ot the rocker arms one side seem to have been running hot

Sounds like its never had an oil change and got clogged up, best thing to do is use an engine flush see if that clears the oil ways. I have just put some diesel fual through my oil before that works really well and will not damage your engine, run the car for about 10 mins half oil half diesel then drop the oil, put some cheap oil in run it again for 10 mins drop the oil and then put some good oil in it.

Oil pressue gage just started acting up when moving it stays at 40 when you stop and are idling drops just above red zone

put a manual oil pressue gauge on the truck and make sure your not losing oil pressure, it would not be wise to assume the gauge is bad and turns out your wrong and need a new motor ;(. could be the sending unit but best to check for pressure before throwing any parts at it please rate -jeff
