I tried to follow the instructions on how to replace the interior door handle on a 98 GMC Sierra, got all the way to getting door panel free from inner shell, but trim around the handle assembly holds it to the door...not sure what to do, do not want to break that trim...have assemblies ready but am stuck...
On the inside of the trim peice take a flathead screwdriver and gently work around the inside of the trim peice and if you find the right spots were the clips are it will just pop off.
Theres what they call horseshoe spring clips on the back side of the handles they make a special tool that pushes them off! but if you got a small piece of stiff wire take a pair of needle nose pliers and make a short!! gental hook on the end and push the door panel back far enough to see the clip and hook into it and pull straight out!
