Check engine light stays on and reduced power light stays on

The light is displayed when a noticeable reduction in your vehicles performance may occur. The vehicle may be driven at a reduced speed when reduced engine power light is on but acceleration and speed may be reduced. The performance may be reduced until the next time you drive your vehicle. If the light stays on see your dealer as soon as possible for diagnosis and repair. If you run out of gas, the light may be lit since there is no power.

Take your car to your local parts store, and have the computer codes read. Check what the codes say is wrong, and you will have a start towards knowing what to fix. There are so many different things that could be wrong, that's why there are codes...

Jerry, Drive to a good shop. So many things can cause reduced power light unfortunately. The first step would be to get the truck hooked up to a scanner/computer and have the computer scanned for trouble codes. One thing that you could try is to drain the water from the water separator that is mounted on the frame under drivers front door. If the PCM picks up on water, power is reduced until water is removed/drained. It could be an exhaust sensor that is reading faulty. Unfortunately from here its impossible to tell you exactly what the fault is because there are just so many engine sensor inputs that could cause your problem. Help reduced engine power light comes on

Run a diagnostic test to see what codes come up and go from there.

You may need to find a different shop

Nothing showing up, is about as common
as any vehicle coming into a repair bay

They know you won't pay diagnostic time or believe
anything your told,so they sent you on your way

there is a acuator that contolls the throttle they dont use a cable anymore. thats were i would look 1st

you need to scan you vehicles ECM, there is a trouble code stored there. depending on where you live most parts stores( such as a shucks/orielleys) will have a scan tool they will let you use if the vehicle is in thier parking lot. this should diagnose the issue, provided the battery hasnt been disconnected since then.

Take your TB to Autozone or a parts store that offers a free check engine light check. All they do is tell you what code your check engine light is throwing. Get this code, and we can help from there.

It will be more help full if you can provide the trouble codes.
