To reset the service interval indicator you need to buy a "Peake" / "Baume" or similar OBDII reader / resetter.

Cost about $150 - $200 ea.

No need for reset tool for 2001+ model BMW insp. reset - Iginition OFF (POS 0) - Press and Hold the trip odometer button while turning key to position 1 (ACCESSORY) - Keep the button depressed (about 5 secs.) until you see "Oil Service" or "Inspection" with "Reset" or "Re" in the display - *Note: On vehicles with "High" cluster, you will also see the amount of fuel (in litres) remaining until next service - Press the button again and hold for approx. 5 secs. until "Reset" or "Re" flashes - While the display is flashing, briefly press the button again to reset the Service Interval. After the display has shown the new interval you should see "END SIA" for about 2 secs. Note that if the "Reset" or "Re" does not flash, then you have not met the minimum consumption level and cannot reset.

Re-setting service interval

1. Switch ignition OFF.
2. Press and hold button "A" - fig. 1 or fig. 2.
3. Turn ignition key to position "I".
4. After 5 seconds the words "OIL SERVICE" or "INSPECTION" are shown together with the message "reset" or "re".
5. Release button "A". Press and hold button "A". After a futher 5 seconds the message "reset" starts to flash.
6. Release button "A". Press and release button "A" again.
7. The new service interval is now displayed.
8. Press and release button "A". The message "END SIA" is now displayed.
8. Switch ignition OFF.

Bmw 2001 320d turbo how do i fix or how much for a second hand one???

The turbos are terrible on the 320d. If you plan on keeping the car get a new turbo. £950 from BMW themselves. You will get a 1 or 2 year warranty on the turbo. Well worth it.

2005 BMW X 3 service interval reset

Hi geonkm, if you look on the instrument clusteryou will see 2 buttons in the lower centre part of the dash, make sure the ignition is swiched off, press and hold the left button and turn the ignition on to the first position keep holding the button down until you see the display change, then lift you finger and press and hold again untill reset appears ( normally after aprox 5 seconds ) it will also flash, once this happens lift your finger again then press and release straight away, this should reset the service indicator. regards mark ps you may want to print this off prior to trying to reset to make it easier to follow, good luck

2001 up to 2003 for shure don't know about any other models, where i found this it said 2001 to current but not shure when it was posted. Thanks
