The "inertia switch" which shuts off fuel to the engine in the event of a collision or jolt on a 1991 through 1996 models, as well as on 1998 coupes, is located in the rear of the vehicle, near the right (passenger's side) strut tower. On sedan and coupe models, open the trunk and remove the right-sided trim panel. On sedan and coupe models, open the trunk and remove the right-side trim panel. On hatchback and wagon models, there may be an access door secured by clips. On some models you may need to remove the lower quarter trim panel on the right side, however it is easier to cut an access hole directly above the switch.

Fuel pump is located under the driver door frame inside rail and the filter is in front of it 12" or so, it is a large metal canister type.. The switching valve is located just behind the cab/drivers side on the inside frame rail. I am sure there is a story behind this, like no fuel or something and knowing the rest of the problem would help us help you and dad. Thanks, I hope it helps.

SOURCE: ignition module location
IT SHOULD BE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FENDER, THE MODULE SHOULD BE A SILVER OR GRAY BOX WITH A COUPLE OF PLUGS ON IT, THE BOLTS THAT HOLD IT TO THE FENDER WILL NEED TO BE ACCESSED FROM INSIDE THE WHEEL WELL. THIS STYLE IGNITION CONTROL MODULE IS FAMOUS FOR GETTING HOT AND JUST TURNING OFF LEAVING YOU STRANDED, IN MOST CASES THE VEHICLE WILL RESTART AFTER THE MODULE HAS TIME TO COOL OFF.
