This code is in reference to a turbo fault code that comes up either with a weak turbo or internally leaking turbo / dragging turbo impeller /pintal shaft,
could also refer to a turbo waste gate vacumn contrl issue

2006 JETTA- RECOMMEND TIMING BET REPLACEMENT

  • The 2006 Jetta service manual says every 60,000 miles the belt should be replaced. Seems a bit on the short side to me but that is the manufacturer request non the less.

check with vw theres a technical service bulletin issued in dec o7 number 0107-70 its for code P0299 on 2006--- 2.0L turbo vw engines

Parking Brake light and beeping is on when parking brake is disengaged

this could also result from low brake fluid check the brake level if it is full un plug the switch @ the e-brake lever and see if it goes out if it dose the switch needs replaced
