Toyota corolla 207: the eingine turns but it does not start

Sounds like a loose cable, weak battery, or charging system problem. Start out by making sure all battery and ground and alternator and starter connections are tight. An auto mechanic would make quick repairs out of this problem.

when you are looking at the eingine where the accesories are, to the left of the midline you will see a 19 mm nut attached to the tensioner body place a wrench on it and pull in the direction of the clock apply steady pressure and you will feel that starts to give in and the belt should become loose and allows you to remove it.

If you are turning the key to the start position and then getting a clicking noise most likely it is your starter solenoid. If the key is just in the on position or what we call run position it is likely some other devise or lose connection

When it doesn't start does the engine turn over but not fire up or does the engine do nothing and there is a clicking noise? I assume that the battery has already been checked and is good.

Misfires, check eingine light will illuminate, power loss, less fuel economy. Eventual cylinder damage as well as a ruined catalytic converter and possible oxygen sensors over time.

MAYBE BAD STARTER , AND CHANGE THE ELECTRIC COIL

Radio and lights can work with weak battery, too weak to turn starter.

Noise when shutting off maybe dieseling due to fuel mixture too rich or timing off.

When you say car won't start do you mean starter turns but engine does not start, or do you mean starter does not turn.

Sounds like your alternator is letting go, because your battery is not charging, and this would mean that you could probably just make it home before the juice runs out. Get your alternator checked out, if your car has 50k, this should be under warranty, otherwise could cost hundreds to replace/repair.

Should have to turn off the key, press the odometer reset button, while holding it down, turn ignition on, not starting the car, wait for the light to reset, or show counting down in the odometer.
