I have had this problem with my Rodeo too for years but I finally found a way to release the key that has worked consistently for the past several times. I experience this event about once every two months. I just put the vehicle in park, engine off, and snap depress and quickly release the button on the gear stick a few times. That always does the trick, usually on the first click, but sometimes it needs a few more snaps. Seems that these SUVs were made with this problem in the mechanism that should have been a recall issue. Hope this works for you too.

Try turning the steering wheel while trying to turn the ignition. Didn't work? Can you remove the key? Use some WD40 with the tube and spray a little in. Put the key in, pull it out, repeat several times. Put the key in and wiggle the ignition lock back and forth.(try while wiggling the steering wheel back and forth, too.) Still won't move? Try pulling the key out just a small fraction of an inch and try turning the ignition.

Still no solution, time to give up and call a locksmith.

Where is the starter switch located in a 1995 isuzu trooper LS. Not sure if there talking about key switch or other in column.

The key lock cylinder operates the ignition switch sometimes ignition switch is separate sorry I didn't find where ignition switch is located if the lock cylinder is plugged into it.
You should have a starter relay and starter relay fuse.
This diagram of starter circuit shows the clutch pedal switch in the circuit on an automatic should have the neutral safety switch in the circuit. This is for 95 Rodeo.

I have an Isuzu Rodeo and the key is stuck in the ignition any idea how to get it out? Year 2000

replace the whole ignition barrel with new key and get key programmed by dealer
can remove barrel and key by removing steering column covers turn ignition to on position and with small shank screw driver push in hole in outer top rear section of barrel assembly then pull out ignition lock barrel with key in it. fit new lock barrel and key, program new key into system and can get door lock barrels coded to suit new key or get code for old key and cut new key so it fits mechanical locks on the rest of the vehicle (just wont turn in ignition) 2 keys for vehicle.

Key stuck in ignition

Take the five screws out of the bottom of the steering
column and lift the top piece up, you don't have to remove
it completely. There is a white plastic block there just
above the ignition cylinder. You can push the white block
but, most likely, you will need to pull it toward you. My
key only gets stuck when I adjust the steering wheel.
Hope this helps!
