I owned a 95 Taurus for several years and done my own maint. I never heard of an external oil pump. The pump is in the oil pan and runs off the cam shaft. To replace it you have to pull the oil pan. After that it is fairly easy. Take out the bolts and it will come out. There are no springs to worry about. If you were talking about some other pump let me know.

I said that I had never heard of an external oil pump, I didn't say there wasn't one. So why do you have to be so rude about it? So I learned something.

O.K. I assume it is leaking between the block and pump. This might not be proper to some people but it will work on an intake manifold. First check to see if the bolts are loose. If they are tighten them to specs and run it and check for leaks. If not I would loosen the bolts until you get about 1/8th" gap between the block and pump. Then take brake parts cleaner and wash all the oil off all around the pump and the opening where the gasket goes. Don't worry it won't hurt anything, it will evaporate. If you can blow air around it until dry or let it air dry. Then take black silicone gasket maker and force it in good all around the pump. Tighten it up until the silicone squeezes out all around. If it don't come out all around you don.t have enough. Tighten it snug and let it dry overnight and then finish tightening it. This will form a leakproof gasket if you get all the oil out before you put the silicone in it. That is probably what a mechanic would use for a gasket if he took the pump off.

I don't knpw what's in there. That's why I suggested to loosen the screws a little bit if you could and put in the silicone. If you loosen them a little could you move the pump a little? It won't take much.

My 95 camaro 3.4 v6 overheats what causes this problem & how to solve it?

3.4 liter, you may have a bad water pump or at worst you have a bad intake manifold gasket which is a common failure to the 3.4 liter V6 engines. Start with the simple, flush out the cooling system and replace the thermostat. Inspect any signs of possible intake gasket failure and head gasket failure and replace. After that has been inspected, move on to a possible weak water pump and will need to be replaced. Good luck and hope this helps.

I have a 95 ford tauras,3.8 v6. Ineed to remove the external oil pump, there is steady oil drip cpming from where it mounts. How hard and what is involed to remove it??

You mean the oil filter, don't you? The filter needs to be tightened or replaced. It is located passenger side, looking up from underneath the car you will see it tucked away towards the front of the car, passenger side. Good luck!

Do i need to drop the oil pan to ghange the timing cover gasket on a 95 ford mustang v6?

You can pull the motor mounts bolts and jack the motor up alittle, that will give you enough clearance to drop your oil pan. If you try and replace the timing chain cover without dropping the oil pan, you will more than likely wind up with an oil leak.

You should be able to replace the timing cover without removing the oil pan. The gasket set should contain gaskets allowing you to cut the oil pan gasket and put in a new partial gasket in this area. In the corners make sure you use some RTV sealant. If you are careful, it can be done. Like Bob A says you can end up with a oil leak without dropping the pan (unless you clean up the area and properly apply the RTV and gasket). If you have time to drop the oil pan, then I would do that.

Need to replace the oil pump on a 95 park avenue

You shouldn't have to for head gaskets, makes it easier but not necessary.
For oil pan, you may have too. Depending on how much room there is between pan and crossmember and if pan is in tranny. Some cars the oil pan is 1/4" behind tranny but don't think that is the deal on your car.

How much will it cost for a mechanic to change oil pan gasket on my 1998 chevy blazer 4wd big v6 engine?

Gasket = $35 (permatex rubber)
Labor - my manual says 3 hours.
You'll have to be responsible for figuring out the labor price per hour depending on where you are located.
In MI, a garage is about $50/hr, and dealership = $85/hr
CA might be $95/$150/hr.

Parts are minimal on the job - its all labor.
Figure in about $20 for shop supplies... gasket remover, sealant, rags, etc.
