Engine also smokes when car driving if turbocharger still faulty. Did you change the engine timing belt (the timing belt kit) meantime? What about engine oil consumption? When engine glow plugs (one or more) burnt then engine exhausts white smoke at idling. Also white smoke at engine idling when water is still present in diesel fuel.

Change the fuel filter and after that verify engine smoke at idling!

There are several possible faults:
1. Pressure sensor is faulty (it might come up on diagnostics as if it was working fine, but it shows the wrong manifold pressure).
2. Either one of the boost pipes/hoses or the intercooler have a hole somewhere.
3. Turbo's actuator is stuck.
4. Vacuum hose is damaged which goes in to the turbo actuator.
5. Control valve for the turbo actuator is not working properly.

White smoke from exhaust

If you are getting clouds of white smoke out the exhaust it is a good indicator of antifreeze getting into one or more of the cylinders. I bought a "Great" car sight unseen from a friend once and when he pulled in the drive the whole car disappeared in a cloud of white smoke that only left when he shut the engine off. I found head gasket leaks in half the cylinders. It takes very little coolant to cause the white smoke. If you are absolutely sure of zero coolant loss perhaps the smoke is a little blue--an indication of burning a little oil from a sloppy turbo bearing. Try the nose test-- it may give you the answer. Burning oil has a distinctive smell.

White Smoke out my exhause,

Hello chris first thing you need to do is while the car is running go to the rear of your car have somone increase the gas pedal to get it to smoke now smell the smoke does it smell like antifreeze if it does most likely headgasket going wich means your head needs to be pulled to change the gasket if it smells like oil possible valve seals clogged oil returns this is all serviced under your valve cover if car is turbo turbo seal internal most likely ruptured and is letting oil get into the exhaust port side have your turbo checked if there is wettness around the housing areallook for exsesive oil leaking externally goodluck please rate
