Vibration when idling in drive

Seems to vibrate when only in drive - not reverse, not park and not in neutral.
Removed the belt and a little better but not gone.
New water pump, belt, alternator and battery.
Removed and cleaned the throttle body.
Also seems to vibrate more if on a slight incline or level and less if on a decline?

    Thanks for the info.

I did put the car on jack stands running in Drive and inspected the mounts. I did not see anything out of order. Last week I ran 12oz. of Injector cleaner with a full tank and no change.

The car runs great when driving. It's just at idle in Drive it has a rough idle and vibrates badly.

Do yo know what effect a faulty Cam solenoid would do?

There are no other symptoms except when in low idle and drive.

    Thanks,

Check your pulley's. Sounds like one of them are bad and causing movement which where the vibrations coming from. A friend of mine had the same problem, his was the fan pulley. It could be moved inward and outward a little but enough to cause the engine to vibrate. The bearings were going out. check it out and let us know what you come up with.

Check the motor mounts. They might be worn or loose which can cause vibration felt when the engine is reved up or running at higher rpms than at idle.

2003 subaru outback engine vibration in gear

Did you recently replace the axles on the vehicle? This problem commonly occurs in Subarus when you replace the axles with non-OEM parts. The only fix seems to be to swap out the axles for OEM parts. Search the forums at subaruoutback.org for many stories of the same condition and some theories on why non-OEM axles cause the problem.
