I have a 2003 Ford Windstar. Here's some history.
Center brake light works. Right and left brake lights were out. I replaced the right brake light bulb which seemed to fix the problem. (I didn't have a second bulb for the left side at the time). The next day the right brake light was not working again.
Then the left turn signal on the dash was blinking quickly but the right turn signal blinks normally. Reverse lights are not working as well.
I replaced the left brake light bulb which then worked. However, replacing the right brake light bulb again and reverse light bulb did not work. Now the left turn signal on the dash blinks normally.
Current state...Center brake light works. Left turn signal out. Left brake light works. Right turn signal works. Right brake light out. Both reverse lights are out.
Hello. The symptoms you are describing are likely due to a poor ground. Temporarily install a new ground wire by securing a piece of copper wire to the frame with a self tapping screw. Use this ground wire along with the hot wire to see if each of these lights works. If it does, trace the ground wire back to the frame, unscrew it and clean up the metal with emery cloth so you reestablish a good ground.
