If the brake and battery light are illuminated then you should have your alternator tested. It is possible that your charging system is failing in some way. Make sure your belt is on the engine. If the belt is on then make sure it is in good condition and tight. Make sure battery terminals are tight. Have the charging system tested.

Need to adjust the brake light switch located under the dash, at the top of the brake pedal. You may need a partner when you adjust it, so they can let you know when the light goes off. Be sure to adjust it properly, so that the brake lights still come on when the brake pedal is pressed.

What is the code? Auto Zone uses cheap scanners, but the code is what you need. For example if you get a P1651 OBDII code the sensor that controls the fan relay could be running the cooling fans at night when the car is turned off and running down your battery. For a few bucks your local GM dealer can scan it for you, and you should have the answer. If you just get the code's Write them down, If you don't have a service manual, search the net for OBDII with the code# and that should narrow the problem down to circuit that is causing the problem. You pmay have replaced your last battrery because it would not hold a charge.
You probably did not check the alternator.
If the alternator is not putting a charge into the battery, it will seem like the battery is bad.
