The keyless start on my 2005 Nissan Murano seems to have problems in the mornings. Do these have a battery that needs to be changed, or are they just sensitive to cold?

The Murano came with a secondary start wire that seldom is hooked up as it requres a relay & someone to actually take the time to completely wire a seperate "Hot" feed to the starter. This is listed in the Murano wiring chart, I know as I have & just set mine up.
I've included the warning:

Here's the link to the wiring diagram with the specific warning:

http://www.commandocaralarms.com/wiring/2004-2005/Nissan/Murano/1244.html

It still could be hooked up but probably wasn't.

good luck

PS the warning is in the very bottom section of the wiring diagram under "Extra Information" & in case you don't want to follow the link, it says that in cold weather both START wires need to be hooked up or the vehicle won't start using Remote start.

I have a nissan murano 2005 with the code p1701 and a p0340 how can i use them to repair these codes

Nissan Murano P0340 2005 Nissan Murano - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit
Possible causes- Faulty Camshaft Position Sensor-
Camshaft Position Sensor harness is open or shorted- Camshaft Position Sensor circuit poor electrical connection- Faulty starter motor- Starting system circuit-
Dead (Weak) battery
P1701- Fuel trim

I would suggest replacing the camshaft position sensor. When the sensor fails it can cause changes in fuel system that the computer can detect. So I suspect once the camshaft sensor ivreplaced that the P1701 code will be gone.

Battery seemed to be dead so I had the charging system tested and seemed ok replaced the battery. I tried to start it this morning and it's dead again.

if the charging system is good and you replaced the battery and it still goes dead then you have something on the car that is causing a draw on the system that needs to checked out.it could be something that is not turn off even a problem with one of the on board computers not powering down.this is providing the starter is not the problem.sometimes a bad starter will do nothing no noise or clicking sound because it has a bad spot in it or the starter solenoid system has a problem.
