Cold air leak passenger side front kick panel area

Recently acquired a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with 100k. The passenger side floor board area is getting a lot of outside air, can't really tell how or where the outside cold air is coming from. The air comes from around the passenger side kick panel. Can anyone tell me what to look for?

I would check to see if the vehicle had an accident and the inner panel or insulation was not installed or not installed properly. Check the under side of the vehicle on the passenger side and make sure the rocker area is not damaged if the vehicle went off road and hit or landed on s large rock. If you have a vent not the inner kick panel, the vent may not be closing if it is electronic or the vent is not closed completely.

SOURCE: air conditioner leaks (drains)into the front passenger seat floor mat

I had the same problem. Drilled a hole in the round plastic extension beneath the glove box, behind the carpet. Now run a coat hanger through it, followed by alot of compressed air. It may take several times, debri from above may be continuosly replugging drain. when you are done, clean thoroughly, and patch with hot melt glue. Good luck.

SOURCE: 2005 jeep grand cherokee ac blows cold only on drivers side

I agree, these vehicles have a problem with the blend doors and since the accuators hit the door when it opens and closes, it breaks the doors. and it's a huge job to replace them.

SOURCE: leaking antifreeze

first, remember that any leak will run down...There is nothing near your muffler that contains antifreeze, therefore, what ever is leaking has been blown back there while driving. Open up the hood and look to see where leak is originating. check all hoses, hose connections, radiator, rug under heater in the cab and everything associated with cooling system. You will see antifreeze coming out somewhere. Once you locate the leak, I can help you deal with it. Do not open the radiator when engine is hot! Do not drive with low coolant condition! This is not a solution...yet...I'ts the beginning of one!

SOURCE: Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited P0700 diagnostic problem

P0700 means there is a transmission fault code in the transmission controller. Since the transmission controller doesn't have a light attached, it tells the engine controller to turn the light on using this code. You'll have to access the transmission controller to further diagnose the problem.

SOURCE: 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo ac not cooling

My 1999 limited does this. When i bought it off the guy he said that its because of some flap down by the passengers left foot. In mine the passenger air barely even blows because of this.

You have a leak in your air conditioning compressor Your system works on the reheat principle All air passing through the system is cooled and reheated before it enters the cabin this sould be dehumidified air but it passes through the heater core and sence the air is not dehumidified you are getting condansation as the air flows the heater core that is heated by the engine heat and the water is from condencation because of the leak in the ac compressor The unit is a press fit in the center of it and fials unfortinatly a lot with this disgien of compressor

What could be the cause of water in the front and rear floor board on the passenger side of 1998 jeep grand cherokee? thanks

Hello
Have you checked the AC evaporator core (located inside the air ducting) condensation drain at the bottom of the heater box to see if it is clogged, it exits under the truck on the passenger side at the bottom of the firewall, you will need to get under the truck to see it, this would be the common reason for the water issue. The next leak area would be the windshield seal, this is much less common..

Cooling fan not kicking on causing the jeep to over heat. Replaced the termstat and temp sensor, on a 00 jeep grand cherokee.

Check the fan operation by disconnecting the fan wiring. Using the battery use a set of jumper wires to see if the fan runs directly off the battery.

Heat/ac not working on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

look for Main A/C relay, look for fuses, or go to a/c shop and have gas check out, perhaps leaks, perhaps evaporator, perhaps condenser, but start for relay box on front passengers side, or fuses on same side

2001 Grand Cherokee Heat on one side cold air on the other side?

The blend door on the passenger side has broken. Jeep has made a replacement section for the heater box assembly so you don't have to buy the whole thing. You will need to remove the heater/A/C box to replace the part. I have done quite a few of these repairs to fix the problem
